The NS, or Name Server records of a domain, reveal which servers manage the Domain Name System (DNS) records for it. Setting the name servers of a given host company for your domain is the most convenient way to point it to their system and all its sub-records will be taken care of on their end. This includes A (the IP address of the server/website), MX (mail server), TXT (free text), SRV (services), CNAME (forwarding), etcetera, so if you would like to change any one of these records, you're going to be able to do it through their system. To put it differently, the NS records of a domain show the DNS servers that are authoritative for it, so when you attempt to open a web address, the DNS servers are contacted to get the DNS records of the domain you are attempting to access. In this way the website that you will see is going to be retrieved from the right location. The name servers typically have a prefix “ns” or “dns” and each domain name has at least two NS records. There isn't any sensible difference between the two prefixes, so what type a host company will use depends entirely on their preference.

NS Records in Cloud Hosting

When you use a cloud hosting from our us and you register a new domain address in the account or transfer an existing one from a different provider, you will be able to control its NS records effortlessly via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all shared accounts. You can change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain name or even for many domain addresses at a time with several clicks. This is done using the feature-rich Domain Manager tool which is a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface is going to make it easy to handle your domain address even if it's the first one you've ever registered. It requires simply a mouse click to see what name servers a domain name uses at the moment or if they are the correct ones to direct a domain to the hosting space on our end and with only a few clicks more you are going to even be able to register private name servers for each of the domain names that you own. For the latter option you can use the IPs of each and every provider that you want the new NS records to forward to.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our semi-dedicated server accounts are administered using Hepsia - an all-in-one tool with extremely user-friendly interface, that will allow you to control your domains easily even when you have not used a hosting account or a domain address previously. Changing the NS records for any domain registered with our company, viewing the current ones and whether they are right or not as to direct that domain name to our cloud hosting platform is also quite simple and takes as little as a couple of mouse clicks. You'll also be able to register child name servers under every one of your domain names as an element of the free DNS management services that we offer you with each and every plan and have ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com. The latter can be used for every domain which you accommodate within the semi-dedicated account, so if you offer services to third-parties and host their sites, using this feature is going to give you more credibility as a business.
