An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files which were accessed by the guests of a certain site. Any file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one webpage with 3 embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log normally offers the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, worldwide web browser and IP address. Sometimes you could also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The info that an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to write reports on the overall performance of an Internet site, independent of the web statistics which your hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

Our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel has a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are among them. When you sign in to your cloud hosting account and go to this section, you shall find a list of all the domains and subdomains which you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to press a button that will be available next to each and every domain/subdomain. If the option is enabled, you will see a download link along with the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your laptop or computer and view it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective instantly, so if you no longer need one, you may stop it with just a mouse click from the same section of the CP. You'll still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our advanced web hosting platform will create access logs for each website hosted within a semi-dedicated server account, as long as this function is enabled. All domains and subdomains that you have shall be listed in the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which we provide with all the accounts, so if you would like our system to start generating logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You can stop this function anytime by following the exact same steps. You can find a Download link for each and every log within the same section of the CP, so you may save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with simply a click. An existing log file may be downloaded even after the option has been disabled, so you will still be able to look at the data that has already been generated.
